Speyside distillery was founded in 1962 and took 25 years to complete. George Christie, the respected whisky merchant and blender who wanted to start a distillery of his own, started it. The first whisky was distilled in 1990 almost 34 years after the project had first begun. It was sold to Scowis in 1986 and then bought by private investors in 2000. The distilleries core range consists of Drumguish No Age, Drumguish 8 year old and Speyside 10 and 12 year old. Glentromie blended malt is also produced.
