Rosebank Distillery -

Built in 1840 for James Rankine, a local merchant
Built on the waterside site of a former brewery near Falkirk
One of the only mainland distilleries to reach its markets by water (the Forth-Clyde Canal)
Renovated by Rankine’s son in 1864
A founder member of the Scottish Malt Distillers grouping in 1914
Triple distilled for smoothness
Closed in 1993
Highly regarded by Lowland malt enthusiasts
