Ladyburn was built by William Grant on the site of the Girvan grain distillery in 1966. It was one of the experimental ‘malt distilleries within a grain distilleries’ of the 1960’s era. Its purpose was to produce malt for the Grants blend. Ladyburn had the shortest life span out of all the experimental distilleries, closing in 1973, nine years after it opened. The equipment was dismantled a year later. This is another rare and highly collectable whisky.
