We’ve long stopped needing a reason to enjoy a single malt but sometimes something comes along that stops you in your tracks and makes you think ‘I’d like one of them’! Distilleries, private collectors and independent bottlers often produce a special edition single malt that is impossible to classify. To mark an event, an anniversary or simply because they have something special they want to shout about. There are some wonderful single malts that will never again be repeated that the general public never hears about because mainstream retailers will only stock the signature brands.
